Major Jordan was the expediter for Lend-Lease shipments to the Soviet Union from 1942 to 1944. He became alarmed at the movement of documents, materials, and personnel between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, and began a diary to record what he observed. This book is the result of his notes, experiences, and research.

The book documents that the United States gave the USSR:
